I love it for the feeling of freedom. Knowing I can just lift anchor and leave if I like!
I live aboard with my family and am leaving to move to Key West, June 2008!

Hi Regina
While I don't live aboard, I spend quite a bit of time around the boat and water. Thanks for stopping by.

Yeah, love being aboard! I've been aboard for over 4 years now and would never move back to land. I've lived aboard in FL before and am looking forward to moving back in a few weeks! Key West, here I come!

Edward,
I would try this as a start http://www.boatus.org/onlinecourse/statelaws/Florida.html
and for the Bahamas http://www.wadespage.com/B800DS02RF00.shtml
I have not made it to the Bahamas yet but it might turn into a goal for 2008.

Hello,
I lived in Homestead Fla. for 34 years but have been in Denver, Co. for the last 10. I still have many friends and family there and plan to purchase an approx. 30' sailboat sometime in the next year for cruising the Keys and Bahamas. spent the better part of 20 years in the Keys on many different kinds of vessels and always had a boat but after 10 years being landlocked I could use some advice on current licensing requirements for coastal sailing in Fla. and the Bahamas. Any advice would be appreciated.
             Thanks,
             Ed Clark
